Asparagus supplies folate, vitamins A, C, E and K, plus fiber and antioxidants.
Risks
Raw stalks are fibrous and hard to chew. Cooking softens them but destroys some nutrients. May turn urine odorous — normal and harmless.

Vomiting, diarrhea or a choking episode with raw stalks.
