The Danger of Severe Pelted Matting

When long hair is neglected, loose shed fur tangles with living hairs, felting into solid sheets (pelts):

• Pelts pull tightly against the fragile skin, cutting off capillary circulation, causing excruciating skin pain, and trapping urine and bacteria.
