Daily water needs for your goat herd based on climate and count.

Daily Herd Water Requirement
14 Gallons / day
≈ 53 Liters / day
Per-Goat Daily Volume
≈ 3.5 gal (13.2 L) per goat
Bucket Equivalents
≈ 3 standard 5-gallon buckets
Sanitation & Odor Rule
Scrub troughs daily — goats refuse saliva-scented water

Goat Hydration Behavior: Goats are notoriously fastidious drinkers. If water contains even a speck of hay, floating debris, or goat droppings, they will willingly dehydrate rather than drink. Dehydration in wethers triggers acute urinary calculi formation within 48 hours.

How it works

2 gal/goat in cool weather, 3 gal in mild, 5 gal in hot climates. Lactating does need 50% more.

Examples
