5 Key Biological Phases of Ecdysis:
1. Dull Skin: Colors fade, belly turns light pink.
2. Opaque / Blue Eyes: Lymph fluid separates old skin. Snake is blind & defensive.
3. Cleared & Slough: Eyes turn clear 24–48h before active shed.
Husbandry Tip: Snakes must shed in ONE complete piece from nose to tail tip including both transparent eye caps (brilles). Never pull dry shed.
